🔬 New publication from collaborative work.
We are pleased to share the recent review article, published in Mechanics & Industry, providing a broad perspective on the rapidly developing field of architectured materials. The article reviews major advances of the past two decades, from mesoscopic design and additive manufacturing to the emergence of multiscale architectures combining micro-, meso- and macroscopic length scales. Full access here.
Beyond conventional stiffness-to-weight optimization, the review highlights the growing range of mechanical and multifunctional properties that can be achieved through architectural design, while discussing the challenges that still limit large-scale industrial deployment. Particular attention is given to the contributions of the French research community over the past 15 years.
