We were delighted to represent our research group at the 5th 4DMDA Conference (4D Materials Design and Additive Manufacturing) hosted by Dublin City University, Ireland.
Our team had the opportunity to deliver two oral presentations, highlighting complementary aspects of our research in 4D-printed composite materials.
- “Total BIOMIMICRY as a Guideline for 4D Printed Composite Materials with Robust Response in Severe Environment“, introduced the Bionics team’s vision of Total Biomimicry as a framework for developing resilient 4D-printed composite materials. The work demonstrates how 4D printing can serve as a powerful bridge for transferring biological principles into engineering solutions capable of operating in demanding environments.
- The second presentation, “Development of Self-Shaped 4D Printed Composite Structures for Space Applications“, jointly delivered by Prof. Antoine Le Duigou and Prof. hoa van suong, one of the pioneers of 4D structural composite materials, showcased the ongoing collaboration between European Space Agency – ESA, Université Bretagne Sud, and Université Concordia , focusing on the development of self-shaping 4D composite structures for future space applications.
Also a great opportunity to chat with french colleagues from GDR TRANS4M by CNRS. Sébastien Blanquer Frédéric DEMOLY Antoine Le Duigou https://gdr-trans4m.utbm.fr/
4DMA Conference was organized by 4D Printing Society IRDL – UMR CNRS 6027/UBS/ENSTA/INP UBO/UBO
