We are delighted to share our last article on 4D printed tubular/helicoïdal shape changing composite materials.
✓ inspiration from microstructure of natural fibres with multi cell wall arrangement and winded stiff fibres embededd in a compliant Matrix.
✓ 3D to 3D shape changing is achieved thanks to a nouvel rotative printer designer for continuous fibre reinforced composites.
✓ Programmable structural morphing is evidenced with both rotation and Torque potential. Torque is experimentally assessed which is rare
✓ a proof of concept of autonomous Solar tracker is evidenced for autonomous reconfigurables motions. This functionnality is particularly relevant for harsh environment like Space.
