Great time for Thomas at Shimoda Marine Research Center with our Japanese colleagues Masafumi and Ryosuke. This visit falls within the development of shape-changing biocomposites (Hygromorph BioComposites = HBC) to create innovative and biocompatible artificial reefs. One of these pictures exhibits the removal of biocomposites, bioplastics and concrete plates after 1 year of immersion in seawater. Many thanks to Sylvain Agostini and Ben Harvey for their hospitality and knowledge on the topic of marine biofouling and revitalization. This collaboration helps to evaluate the revitalization potential of these materials in various marine ecosystems
