“A conference for people that like nonlinearities”

Conferences

Glad to attend The conference FTN2025 — “Functionality Through Nonlinearity” — at King’s College London which was aimed at researchers interested in soft, highly deformable structures that use structural non-linearities to produce function. The program featured invited talks from many leading scientists working on topics like soft robotics, multistable metamaterials, buckling instabilities for grasping or sensing, mechanical computing, 3D-printed multimaterial structures, and adaptive/foldable architecture. Beyond pure research presentations, the event emphasized building a community across engineering, physics, design, and robotics — aiming to foster collaboration, early-stage ideas and cross-disciplinary dialogue.
