Bionics is delighted to welcome Theo Le Gagne, Master student @UBS – Master ECPC, for his internship under the supervision of Pr Antoine Le Duigou. Theo will support, Pierre-Louis Pichard, a PhD student in his thesis work entitled: “Development of bio-inspired, 3D-printed lunar regolith-based composite materials with high resistance to high-velocity impacts”, funded by the European Space Agency (ESA). His tasks will include – Design of specimens and manufacture using 3D printing, – Mapping the properties of the composite at the fold scale (tensile, shear and DMA tests) at ambient temperature, then in the range of temperatures encountered on the lunar surface….and more.
