Thrilled to announce that our latest research has been published in Advanced Materials, Wiley ! 🎉
In this work (Open Access), the architecture of a plant fiber cell wall is simplified to design novel concepts of 4D printed tubular moisture-driven structural actuators, using the hygromorphic properties of continuous flax fiber (cFF) reinforced materials named meta biocomposites. The potential applications are illustrated through a proof of concept for a meteosensitive rotative structure that transmits motion to an external device..
Congratulations to the first author, Dr Melvin Josselin (excellent work Melvin !) and thanks to the co-authors for their crucial involvement and to the whole research team for their dedication and hard work. Special thanks to DGA for their support into 4D BIOMAT project : 4D printing of novel reconfigurables structure made with biobased composites
